Super cute coffee shop that is serious about their coffee (not in a snobby way) and it shows in their quality. Possibly the best gingerbread latte I’ve ever had. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Loved the gingerbread latte! Very cozy specialty coffee shop with great coffee, very friendly staff, and a nice vibe. Top spot for great coffee and great service in Philly. Also, the lattes are LARGE, so I’d even suggest sharing one. Their breads and pastries looked lovely, but I did not try anything. Sadly they lack vegan food options outside the avocado toast and overnight oats. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Philly.

Excellent neighborhood coffee destination with a laid back vibe and an interesting selection of drinks. The self-service milk and sweetener station had my personal favorites — oat milk and simple syrup. Love to see a place that has both. I tried the iced Costa Rica Las Lajas Perla Negra pour-over this time around, it had a complex flavor and the strength level was nice. Next time I'm thinking I'll go for the espresso.

A top notch small boutique style bagel. Sourdough, so it’s not quite the same flavor as a NYC style. The size is perfect to have 2 different flavors, and the cream cheese provided is solid and plentiful enough to slather on both sides effectively. Chai is watery and a bit bland. The butternut squash latte I used to love is now hardly spiced nor texturally distinctive as compared with a plain old latte. I actually wonder if I was simply given a latte. Bummer - I guess Starbucks is the only squash latte I’m having this season. Function is a great go-to but I do wish they had a high quality frappuccino style drink like that fabulous coffee connoisseur in nyc I can’t recall the name of rn. 17 for 2 drinks and a bagel.

Function Coffee Labs is a real gem! Staff was friendly and you could tell they enjoyed working together behind the bar with passion for quality product and great service. The anaerobic geisha was outstanding on espresso. We enjoyed our pour overs - the Colombia pink bourbon and the Ethiopia ardi natural. Highly recommend for both the snobbiest of snobs (me) and anyone looking for a caffeine boost (normal people). Either way, Function has everything you need- great atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, delicious drinks, delectable food (didn’t have any but it looked amazing), and most importantly: great service. Will certainly go back next time we are in town !

Terrific place for espresso, especially if you’re a purist. Both house blend and single origin espresso selections. Cinnamon bun was tasty, fresh, large, cream cheese icing not overly sweet. Seating fills up quick however park across the street. Very close to Italian market for a stroll.

I've sampled their lattes, house blend drip coffe, cinammon buns and banana nut muffins so far. All were delicious! The service is friendly and helpful. I visited with a coworker from Spain, and she was impressed with the artistry of their cortado coffee preparation. There's some outdoor seating around Function and there's Bardascino Park seating if it's busy. Come after 8:15 if you want a pastry--that's when the delivery comes from their other location. Highly recommend a visit if you are a gourmet coffee and pastry enthusiast.

Such a wonderful little coffee shop! The menu has a great selection and the sourdough cinnamon bun had the tastiest frosting. There are a few seats inside and outside. My boyfriend also enjoyed the oat bar. The cinnamon buns are not heated up (but still tasted good cold).
